Monitoring

Monitoring is a vital aspect of responsible stewardship under an adaptive management framework.

MARS is building a comprehensive monitoring program to increase monitoring capacity in the area. We conduct a variety of surveys including forest inventories, fire & fuels assessments, vegetation surveys, wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and more. We are in the process of developing a drone-based monitoring program to expand study dimensions and capacity. Our monitoring work helps us track changes over time, gauge the effectiveness of activities, and better understand the landscape in which we live and work.

Our monitoring efforts also include research opportunities through universities, agencies, and private entities. MARS is always seeking monitoring and research opportunities whether on our own Mt.
