36 Years of Mount Adams Forest Change

Mt. Adams Resource Stewards is about bringing people together to affect positive change on the landscape that means so much to our communities. So this video created through Google Earth is not meant to stir controversy or serve as a critique of any one land owner or manager in the region. Rather, we hope it will serve to point out several obvious and underlying trends (such as the collaboration on public lands that has been necessary to build trust around federal forest management proposals after years of heightened harvest activity leading up to 1984 when the first image appears) that have motivated much of the work that we do as an organization. Dramatic shifts in private industrial forest ownership have impacted harvest trends and inspired interest in the Mt. Adams Community Forest. What do you see? You might have to watch a few times with an eye to particular places. Send us your thoughts at info@mtadamsstewards.org
