Summer Intern Gets Stewardship Exposure

James Baker joined MARS’ team this summer through an internship program at Whitman College.  James is a Trout Lake native and is studying Geology and Political Science at school.  During his internship, James is working on various projects including monitoring vegetation response to prescribed fire, as well as planning and implementation of climate adaptation treatments of forests and streams.  James is also using his creative skills in photography to improve MARS’ outreach and communications. Maybe of greatest value is the regular reminder of how critical it is connect the talents of people like James with our efforts to build an intergenerational land ethic in the Mt. Adams region. Thanks for all you do, James!
