Mt. Adams Resource Stewards is hosting the first-ever Columbia Gorge Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (TREX) October 9-20 in Glenwood! This 12-day immersive training event will help develop participants’ skills through hands-on practice, guest speakers, field trips, and implementation of prescribed burns throughout the region. In leading the event, MARS hopes to expand capacity for more “good fire” in the Mt. Adams landscape (and beyond) as a means to reduce wildfire risk around communities and promote the health of our fire-adapted forests. No prior qualifications are required to attend CGTREX.
